Earth Day – an annual celebration, where people from around the globe express how much they care about our beautiful planet. It is a day not only to celebrate, but to raise awareness of the importance of lasting ecological sustainability. So at System Pavers, we are happy to commemorate Earth Day’s 40^th Anniversary

A Little History

The first Earth Day in 1970 shed light on the value of environmental protection. Many gatherings and rallies were held across the United States, where 20 million people partook. Started by a U.S. senator, Earth Day also gained political support allowing the Clean Air Act (1970) and the Endangered Species Act (1973) to pass through U.S. Congress.

Earth Day went worldwide in 1990, where over 200 million people in more than 140 countries joined in the celebration! And today, Earth Day continues to be celebrated around the world with an endless array of activities, rallies and ways to create awareness.  Resource: Encyclopedia Britannica
